Fox Mask #2: Fennec
Description
My second attempt took much shorter than the first. I constructed the underskull in one go, without having to redo parts of it. I used larger styrofoam cones for the ears to give it an even foxier look (they turned so big that I declared it a fennec eventually). This time I decided not to use fur, but paint it completely. Because of that, I smoothened the papier-mâché layer with a soft brush, incidentally making the layer thinner as well. It certainly resulted in a much nicer looking mask compared to the first one.
The mask was meant for a friend of mine, for the Maelstrom event also. She did the paint job for it using multiple layers of brush strokes with gouash and no finishing spray, resulting in a nice artistic pattern.
